Aotea Group
Profile
Aotea Electric began in 1973 with
the formation of an electrical contracting company in Dunedin. Growth into
other locations was steady until the economic downturn in the
mid 1980's saw a decline in the company's
size.
A management buy-out occured in
1990.
The new owners focused on providing a quality
based professional delivery utilizing the years of experience
already gained by the existing staff. The success of this approach
has seen a steady growth, where we now operate businesses in
Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Westland, Westport, Dunedin, Oamaru,
Cromwell, Alexandra, Wanaka, Queenstown, Nelson, Invercargill and
Gore.
Group Strength
The Aotea Group is made up of
individual companies, each privately owned by management
shareholders working within the business and in partnership with
senior shareholders from Dunedin and Christchurch. This partnership
provides a common bond between the companies to smoothly act as a
group. The Aotea culture and systems are mirrored across all our
companies. This essentially gives each company access to the largest
cohesive electrical workforce in New Zealand.
In the past we have successfully
combined our resources where individual project requirements have
exceded the available local resources. Recent projects utilizing
this method of delivery include the Globe Gold Mine in Reefton, the
upgrade of the Smithfield Freezing Works in Timaru, and currently in
progress is the Kawarua Falls Hotel development site in
Queenstown.
