Preventative Maintenance

We understand that in the industrial and commercial world, there is never a convenient time for an electrical breakdown or failure. In Aotea Electric's Preventative Maintenance program, our electricians use a wide variety of tests to maximise equipment life and efficiency while minimising the the risk of unexpected failure. Also when repairs are needed, we have the equipment, the people and the expertise to get our customers up and running quickly. Also as part of each maintenance inspection, our electricians review the electrical system for energy saving opportunities and electrical hazards, and a full report including recommendations can be provided.

Preventing Electrical Failure

A great deal can go wrong if equipment is not adequately maintained. As electrical loads cycle between high and low demand, thermal expansion and contraction can cause connections to loosen. Electrical panels that are never cleaned accumulate dust and dirt that deposit on these connections. The loose and dirty connections provide a high resistance path that are directly responsible for more that 30 percent of electrical failures. Another 17 percent are caused by electrical components being exposed to moisture. With a comprehensive Electrical Preventative Maintenance program, both of these conditions, as well as many more, can be prevented.
