Craig Paterson
Area Manager / Director

Craig Paterson's career with Aotea Electric started in 1994 on his return from overseas. Craig's first position was as Electrical supervisor. In 1996 Craig took over the position of Manager. Under his control and with the assistance of their dedicated managers and staff, Aotea Electric Queenstown has grown to become the market leader in the area. Today Craig still has a passion for contract management and remains involved with the day to day management of projects as well as overseeing all the company’s operation.

Ben Parsons
Projects Manager/Director

Ben Parsons has been with Aotea since 1992, originally as an apprentice with the Dunedin branch before working in Auckland for a time, then establishing himself in Queenstown in 2002. Ben has worked in all aspects of the electrical trade and is the Contracts Manager in Queenstown. His main roles are the overseeing and planning of projects and insuring deadlines are met. Ben manages and works closely with his team of Foreman and Supervisors to meet client deadlines and ensure quality is of the highest standard.


Alan Kay
Supervisor, Data Technician and Electrician

Alan Kay has been with Aotea since 2006, having worked in the UK for two years and Australia for six years installing structured cabling systems using both copper and fibre optic cables and having gained level 3 certification in telecommunications and a master installer’s certificate in Structured Cabling. Alan’s knowledge and high standards within the communications industry have seen him work for a range of clients throughout the South Island.

Gennet Caselli
Financial controller / Office Manager

In 2012 Gennet arrived at Aotea Electric Queenstown tasked with setting up the local financial hub including the implementation of a new IT system which has now been successfully completed. Gennet is a Chartered Accountant with over 24 years’ experience across a broad range of industries.

Every successful business requires someone to manage the back of house and financial functions. Gennet is passionate about both of these and is always in the background ready to help clients or other Aotea Electric Employees.



Dave Gower
Contract Supervisor

Dave has been in Queenstown since 2004 working within the electrical trade bringing over 10 years of experience from the UK where he was running commercial projects at a site level.

He has been a contract supervisor with Aotea electric Queenstown since 2014 and has managed a variety of Projects from the terminal extension of the Queenstown airport to more recently the completion of the Wakatipu high school.

He prides himself on working to a high standard with the ability to meet both deadlines and budgets.

Ben Cullen
Contract Supervisor

Ben Cullen emigrated to Queenstown from Ireland in 2017 bringing with him over 12 years’ experience in the electrical and HVAC industries working on various large scale industrial projects and high end maintenance contracts.

He prides himself on being very organised, expecting a high quality of work, particularly enjoys building good working relationships within the Aotea company and with his clients. Always driven to learn and develop, Ben has worked through various facets of the industry from being an apprentice electrician to estimating and overseeing contracts.

He also has a keen interest in renewable energy which has lead him to attain a BSc. Energy Management (Buildings).



Grant Bewley
Servicing Manager

Grant Bewley started his electrical career in Queenstown in 1990 after returning to New Zealand from overseas. Grant previously managed his own Electrical Company for 18 years before heading to Auckland.

Grant brings a wealth of experience in the servicing sector along with a good reputation and strong customer focus. Grant is now the Service Manager at Aotea Electric Queenstown and is embracing the chance to utilise his people management skills gleaned from the Fire Service.

Brian Vermaas
Contract Supervisor

Brian has a strong background in large commercial and high end hotel buildings. After completing his apprenticeship with Aotea in 2010 Brian then moved into the residential division where he found his niche in high-spec homes.

Brian now works closely with his team of Foreman to ensure each project is delivered to a high standard ensuring customer satisfaction.
